Marketing score
Your marketing has a number. Here is how it is worked out.
Take the free ten-question self-check below for a quick marketing score out of 100. A marketing score turns everything your marketing does into one number you can track. The FatCat score is out of 100, built from seven vitals, and worked out by fixed arithmetic so the same inputs always give the same number.

The seven vitals
- Keystone: the one channel or asset the business actually stands on, and whether it is being fed.
- Economics: what a customer costs against what a customer is worth.
- Retention: whether people come back, and whether anything asks them to.
- Resilience: how much rides on one platform, one product or one person.
- Measurement: whether the numbers that matter are written down at all.
- Positioning: whether what you say matches what your accounts and customers show.
- Acquisition engine: whether new customers arrive by a repeatable route or by luck.
How it is calculated
Your answers and what FatCat reads from your accounts go into a fixed scoring law. A model writes the explanation; it does not choose the number. Where something is missing, the report says so and shows the range the score could sit in.
How the number moves
Each move on your plan names the number that proves it worked. When you re-score, those numbers are read again, and the ones that moved earn their points. The score is meant to be raised, not admired.
Questions about marketing score
- What is a good marketing score?
- Higher is healthier, but the useful part is which vitals hold it down. The FatCat report shows the seven vitals under your score and which one is costing you the most.
- Is the marketing score made up by AI?
- No. The score is fixed arithmetic over your answers and what your accounts show. AI writes the explanation around it, not the number.
- What is a marketing health check?
- A marketing health check looks at every channel together and says what is healthy and what is not. The FatCat score is one: seven vitals, one number out of 100, and the plan to raise it.
- How often should I check my marketing score?
- After you have acted on the plan. Re-scoring reads the numbers your plan told you to watch and shows what moved.
